David Thornton

As the current conductor of Grimethorpe, a band I’m always interested in, David takes me behind the scenes during the turmoil of the Covid pandemic.

He’s been one of the world’s leading Euphonium players for years especially with Black Dyke, he’s a leading light in brass band education with his central position at The Royal Northern College of Music and has just directed the highly successful series of recordings and concerts celebrating the James Shepherd Versatile Brass project.

There’s so much to talk about, so join me with David Thornton, as we go Beyond the Barlines here on Frank Renton on Brass.
