FRANKLY SPEAKING ABOUT william rimmer

"There are some people that once met are never forgotten.

One such person for me has to be Sir Malcolm Arnold and on the centenary of his birth, I’d like to share my memories of just the four times I met up with him.

The occasions couldn’t have been more different, ranging from a surprise backstage visit after I’d conducted an orchestra that he was patron of, to a prize giving ceremony at Kneller Hall during my time as its Director of Music.

He was a man full of stories, full of friendship and full of great music, both as trumpet player and of course as one of our most distinguished composers.

So, join me for this latest Frankly Speaking podcast, where I’m speaking frankly about Sir Malcolm Arnold."
