Before, during, and after the Pandemic it’s been a complete pleasure to bring you my weekly choice of the finest brass sounds from yesterday and today here on Frank Renton on Brass. It’s always been a joy for me to have hopefully given you a little insight into it all, and to what the music means to me personally.

As you might expect, in this 100th celebratory edition there are reminders of my first podcast, lots of my favourite music, some of which recalls the excitement of playing with the Black Dyke reunion band, and a listen to one of the undoubted stars of today, trombonist Isobel Daws, starting out on what will be a glittering career. Even today I’m still excitingly finding recordings of music I’ve never heard before as in the piece for tenor and band featured here, played by one of the greatest players of our time, Sandy Smith.

The 100th edition of the Music Podcast! Surely not, doesn’t time fly when you’re enjoying yourself.

We hope you'll enjoy the free trail of The Music Podcast that's below and then do please subscribe and join us on Frank Renton on Brass for more details, the full playlist and of course the whole programme as well as all our many other podcasts - it's less than £1 a week!
