THE MUSIC PODCAST : 109 (TRAIL)

"The Gothenburg Brass Band was started in 1982 by Bengt Eklund and ended with his death 25 years later, and it’s a testament to just how far the vision, professionalism and enthusiasm of one man can take a group of musicians and the impact he made on their lives.

Along the way they made several memorable recordings and I’ve got some here in this podcast that you’d expect a band to make, and some you definitely wouldn’t.

I’ve also got a beautiful piece dedicated to a much missed cornet player with Fodens, plus for sheer enjoyment it’s hard to beat  Elgar Howarth’s arrangement of music by Copeland."

Don't forget our free podcast, which is available on all the normal podcast platforms, simply called Frank Renton on Brass, it features Frank's Track of the Week from this Music Podcast and a track that conjures up a memory of something that has been important in Frank's life of music.
