"Hello I’m Frank Renton introducing this week's music podcast.

This edition of my Music podcast features a couple of tracks with their roots firmly in the jazz world, plus one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time.

Fountain City Brass Band play Chuck Mangione’s Land of Make Believe, the young Scottish Bass Trombone star Josiah Walters plays music by Chris Brubeck, which celebrates the sounds of James Brown and Wynton Marsalis reappears with a track from his hugely influential Album Carnaval.

Staying with thoughts of America there’s music by Philip Sparke, especially written for the River City Brass Band and closer to home Fodens bring us The Triumphal Entry of Spartacus by Khachaturian.

It’s another blockbuster of the best of brass sounds, old and new from all over the world. I hope you enjoy it."
