In this week’s programme we’re including classic Black Dyke in one of its many purple phases, captured on a series of recordings made by the Chandos Label.
Not that I really remember the last time I was in one, but in some restaurants these days you can often experience chips ‘three ways’, no, I’m not sure either, but in how many ways can we experience a Brass quartet?
Well I've got 3 of them, plus a bit of Brass Band music history, played by one of my favourite bands, the Kirkintilloch Band, a great baritone solo by Katrina Marzella and film music by Carl Davis, that he insisted could only be arranged for brass by Ray Farr and quite brilliant it is too."
