Over a conducting career spanning some sixty years I’ve worked with all sorts of ensembles some large and some small, but I can’t remember anything being more fun than my time spent with the James Shepherd Versatile Brass, a group of star players who just wanted to entertain and to enjoy doing it.
So this podcast is dedicated to small brass ensembles, the playing as you would expect is just brilliant and includes The Locke Brass Consort, Exit Brass, Academy Symphonic Brass and a quintet made up of principal players from the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras, a pretty select group!
