Every week Frank selects his own favourite track of the week from our weekly Music Podcast, and it's free here on Frank Renton on Brass. As Frank says,

"This recording has probably been around since the 1970s, but it knocked me out when I first heard it, and it still has that effect on me.

It’s an arrangement by Peter Reeve of a chorus from the last part of the Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach, it perhaps shouldn’t work for a brass ensemble, but in the hands of the group considered the world over as the best in the business, it certainly does. The Philip Jones Brass Ensemble plays Bach, a match made in heaven just for Christmas, here on Frank Renton on Brass and our absolutely free, cracker of a Track of the Week."

This track is from our second Christmas Special to get you into the festive spirit and it's an excerpt from The Christmas Oratorio, Pt.6 Nun Seid ihr wohl Gerochen, Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, C Bach Arr Peter Reeve.

We hope you’ll enjoy our free track of the week - and then will join us on Frank Renton on Brass. It’s a lot less than £1 a week!
