Every week Frank selects his own favourite track of the week from our weekly Music Podcast, and it's completely free here on Frank Renton on Brass.

"When selecting the music for Track of the week I try and find something that’s a bit different, or a bit special, or a bit quirky, or is simply sensational, when it’s all of those things, and more, then you know you don’t want to miss it.

Canadian Brass was founded in 1971 and quickly forged a reputation for great playing, great entertainment value and great recordings.

In 2007 they got together to record an album titled 'Legends', with special arrangements and included both past members of the quintet as well as those who were current.

Chris Dedrick made an arrangement for a double quintet of alumni made up of, Ryan Anthony, Joe Burgstaller, Brandon Ridenour, and Larry Larson on trumpet, Jeff Nelson and Bernard Scully on horn, Eugene Watts and Sacher Israel on trombones and the ever present Chuck Daellenbach joined by Christopher Lee in the tuba section.

It’s a fantastic line up and an amazing sound. So my track of the week this week is Canadian Brass playing Penny Lane. Believe me don’t miss it!"

We hope you’ll enjoy our free track of the week - and then will join us to hear all our many programmes. It’s a lot less than a cup of coffee a week!
