TRACK OF THE WEEK

Every week Frank selects his own favourite track of the week from our weekly Music Podcast, and it's completely free to listen too, here on Frank Renton on Brass. As he says,

"John Storey is a fine Euphonium player and happy to play in a variety of styles. He was born and borough up in Yorkshire and was a student of the late great Geoffrey Whitham, then after a stint with James Shepherd Versatile Brass, he headed south to London, to be Principal Euphonium with the Band of the Coldstream Guards.

Now he’s Principal Euphonium of the British Army Brass Band as well as the Band of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He also plays in the brass group that backs the highly successful rock band Big Big Train.

In his debut solo album titled Euphonium he’s accompanied in a variety of ways, piano, string quartet, wind ensemble and in this track by the Seindorf Beaumaris Band, conducted by Gwyn Evans, in an arrangement by Steven Roberts of the Scottish Folk Tune, O Waly Waly, and that’s the track of the week for this week at Frank Renton on Brass."

We hope you’ll enjoy our free track of the week that's below - and then will join us to hear all our many programmes, interviews and music podcasts. It’s a lot less than a cup of coffee a week!
