Every week Frank selects his own favourite track of the week from our weekly Music Podcast, and it's completely free to listen too, here on Frank Renton on Brass. As he says,

"In 1999 five brass players from five different orchestras in five different Italian cities came together to form a brass quintet and called themselves the Gomalan Quintet.

They have been highly successful both here in Italy where I am writing this and at festivals all over the world. Their secret is a quite theatrical and unusual presentation allied to brilliant brass playing, a willingness to explore every facet of the existing repertoire, and to work at creating original music just for themselves.

So the players on this 2008 recording of film music by Franco Micallizi are Marco Braito and Marco Pierobon Trumpets, Nilo Caracristi Horn, Gianluca Scipioni Trombone, and Oswald Prader Tuba, with the main theme from the animated film Lupin the Third, and it’s my Track of the Week here at Frank Renton on Brass."

We hope you’ll enjoy our free track of the week that's below - and then will join us to hear all our many programmes, interviews and music podcasts. It’s a lot less than a cup of coffee a week!
