TRACK OF THE WEEK

Every week Frank selects his own favourite track of the week from our weekly Music Podcast, and it's completely free to listen too, here on Frank Renton on Brass. As he says this week,

"It’s always good to see someone’s hard work dedication and downright talent recognised, especially when it’s by her Majesty the Queen. So the recent award of the 2021 Queen’s Medal for Music to the trumpet virtuoso, academic, researcher and longtime advocate of  the availability of music tuition to all young people, John Wallace CBE, is absolutely a cause for celebration.

The award was established in 2005 by the then Master of the Queen’s music Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, and is awarded annually to an individual or group of musicians who have had a major influence on the musical life on the nation.

So, my completely free Track of the Week at Frank Renton on Brass for this week, is The Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Christopher Warren Green, with John Wallace playing the Final Rondo of the Hummel Trumpet Concerto, and with it the congratulations of everyone at Frank Renton on Brass."

We hope you’ll enjoy our free track of the week that's below - and then will join us to hear all our many programmes, interviews and music podcasts. It’s a lot less than a cup of coffee a week!
