Every week Frank selects his own favourite track of the week from our weekly Music Podcast, and it's completely free to listen too, here on Frank Renton on Brass. As he says this week,

"Nothing could better illustrate the fast changing face of the brass band culture than my Track of the Week.

The music was written in 1984 by Peter Graham as a test piece for I think second section bands, but such is Peter’s skill as both composer and orchestrator that the music has remained popular with bands of all sections ever since.

In contrast the band playing the music didn’t come into existence until eight years later, one of the many bands beginning to spring up all over Germany. The work being done in that country, especially with young people, is quite outstanding and it augurs well for a secure future for brass band culture in Germany.

So my Track of the Week is Dimensions by Peter Graham played by the Brass Band Oberschwaben Allgau from Germany, here at Frank Renton on Brass."

We hope you’ll enjoy our free track of the week that's below - and then will join us to hear all our many programmes, interviews and music podcasts. It’s a lot less than a cup of coffee a week!
